What User likes about St Giles Cafe:
this pretty little caffe, hidden under the cathedrale, offers a great retreat from the bustling streets of edinburgh. good, easy eating that does not claim to be all that it is not. my sweet potato soup served directly from the cauldron with small pastry cake was warming, filling and served with a smile. I would recommend this charming little caffe for a fast tank while exploring the city. View all feedback. What User doesn't like about St Giles Cafe:
this caffe is beautifully located at the top of the road and still has the same feeling as when it was florentines. the menu is somewhat disappointing. I would have expected at least an eelbenedict or an omelette, instead of baked and porridge. I had that waffel with braut and speck, that was brilliant, but not fantastic. I'd probably be back for hot drinks, but not for eating. View all feedback.

read moreLocated in a beautiful spot, this café offers a mixed dining experience with some dishes being disappointing while others are delicious. The ambiance is praised, but service can be slow and inconsistent. Some have had negative experiences with the coffee, while others enjoyed hot chocolate and Edinburgh Mist Tea. The menu features simple and homemade dishes, like a warming sweet potato soup and a roasted sandwich. Highlights include a great waffle and friendly service. Just be aware of inconsistent opening hours. Overall, a charming spot for a quick bite or hot drink while exploring Edinburgh.
Visited for coffee only. Nice cafe offering assortment of cakes and drinks. Only had coffee. Very busy. Staff very good, would visit again.
A great go to place for breakfast, lunch or a cake. Been here many times. Was a bit shocked to be served a fruit scone that had been toasted. Soon changed.
