Serrano Manchego is the closest I've found in Edinburgh to a true Cerveceria! The vibe is lively, noisy, and full of energy. The food is top-notch with a wide selection of breakfasts, main dishes, tapas, and desserts. We opted for tapas, which were not only delicious but also generously portioned. The serrano ham was delectable and tender, and another standout was the warm goats cheese in honey and raisins. The setting is not fancy, with wooden chairs and communal high tables where you may dine alongside strangers. The tables are close together, and the staff are always on the move. Overall, a fantastic atmosphere.
We snapped an Impromptu dinner between Fringe shows here. With a decent sized selection of tapas we blasted the menu. I thought I would go for 3 dishes; Manzanilla Olives, Jamon Serrano Reserva and Garlic Mushrooms in a Gazpacho Sauce. My dining room partner went for patatas bravas and deep fried anchovies (she wanted to keep room for churros).
We randomly spotted Serrano Manchego on Leith Walk last week, and after initially heading to a different restaurant we decided to give this place a try! It was a lovely summers evening and they have big windows, which were swung open and it had a fantastic Spanish feel to it. It wasn't overly busy so we managed to grab a seat by the window where we could enjoy the atmosphere. Because there weren't a lot of guests it did take a surprisingly long time to get served and especially to receive our drinks. However, this gave us time to ponder over the extensive menu.
