Rocksalt tapas night. Wow!!!!! only opened last thursday, a week early apparently.what a fantastic choice of food.the favorites at the table were the meatballs in almond and chilli sauce, goujons of scottish haddock with green mayo, olive, blue cheese and pickled chilli brochette and best of all, ribeye steak brochettes. best of all, its byob with no corkage. everything cooked to perfection. were going back next week... Too bad I give my first bad review and a place that is our local. Today we even had to go to dinner and the apology was terrible. we ordered and 54 minutes later and still not eating. it was a busy day so we can understand that the things were slow. but when we asked, it was clear that they had forgotten our food. we had other arrangements, so we had to go without eating in our dumb ones. which was very disappointed... Rocksalt is a long plot in leith and its location in such a beautiful place on the constitutional road. beautiful seating inside with generous seating outside. her menu is ok, but looks pretty overpriced when they offer the other restaurants / restaurants around them much better lunch specialties. we sat outside and his counterfeit. we both have on suppe and a sandwich that would have come to over £7 if we had not seen the offer on the board inside as we wanted to give up our order! suppe and a sandwich for £5. suppe was ok, I can't even remember what it was. Rocksalt is a lovely cafe space and the food on offer is pleasingly good
This place was just fabulous! Great coffee, and a great breakfast menu. I had pancakes with yogurt and fruit and my dad and brothers had Scottish breakfasts which they loved. We wondered why we had never been here! I definitely recommend.
What a swallow! my partner and I visited rocksalt before a few Saturdays and was not impressed at all. at the arrival the girl behind the counter did not even look after to say hi how we came (it was not busy). standing after what seemed to live, she looked what I think was her phone and I said we only take a place somewhere and how to order it was then said that we were sitting somewhere and that the menus were on the table at the top of the stairs, along with the cutlery and serviettes. not a great start to get the info out we have looked through the menu and thought we should choose something familiar. we decided and went back...read more
