Reviews - Seak
Reviews summary
Perched with a lovely view, this neighborhood Southeast Asian restaurant is celebrated for its pho, red curry, wings and a standout guava‑mango cheesecake. Servers are generally professional and hospitable, earning regulars, and the patio is BYOB and dog‑friendly. However, quality and authenticity are uneven: some dishes can be bland or undercooked, there have been hygiene and delivery mishaps (spilled/half‑full drinks), and prices have risen, leaving diners divided between loyal fans and disappointed returnees.

What MATTHEW GOLDBERG dislikes about Seak:
Good food but INCREDIBLY SMALL portions and very little protein included. I have been offering to pay for extra and keep getting charged every time i order just for a tiny bit more chicken or a few more noodles. BAD value. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 View all feedback.

Ooh, delicious food. Nice ambience. And their chilli garlic wings are delicious. They even have decent Pho. Great location too and you can get a table overlooking the river. Price per person: $20–30
Great Spot on the Hudson River. Nice views of New York in a trendy industrial setting. Came for Valentine’s Day the staff treated us very kindly. Menu is Thai Vietnamese as described with excellent choices! Check this place out if you haven’t Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I've been ordering take-out for about a year--same thing: Cashew Nut either lunch or dinner size. This time I ordered the lunch size. Price has increased which I understand but size is quite a bit smaller than previous. As always, I requested brown rice instead of white as I have always done. This time, they charged an extra $2 for the brown without telling or asking me. Suggestion: give more specific details of what's included in dish indicating all price increases and offer more than just soup as add on for lunch. I dont eat their soups which taste like they have too much sodium. Prefer a salad or something healthier. Cashew Nut food quality pretty good but no longer worth the price so I likely won't order again.
I got my Seak Pho without meat. I got tofu instead. I prefer the vegan broth than this!
The food isn't entirely authentic, but it still tastes quite good overall. I would suggest skipping the pad see ew, as it was bland and lacked seasoning, and the bun vermicelli noodles were just average. On the positive side, we really enjoyed the Traditional Banh Xeo, Heritage Pork Banh Mi, and chicken satay. However, the beef satay from the Thai Satay dish was a big disappointment. There was hardly any meat on the beef satay (just one small piece per stick), while the chicken was much better, featuring three decent-sized pieces per stick. Overall, it was quite a letdown!
Overall, I thought the Thai basil chicken lunch and Pho soup were quite delicious, but the portions were a bit too small for my liking. While I'm not a big eater, I found that five small pieces of chicken simply weren't enough. The Drunken Noodles, Pad See Ew, and Pad See Mao were also very tasty, but the lunch portions were still on the smaller side. If they could just increase the lunch portion slightly, I would definitely recommend this place. I'm planning to try their dinner menu next and hope the portions will be more generous.

The Boba is not great. They only have paper straws that disintegrate into the beverage (gross). And they use too much ice so you can't even get to the boba. The food and atmosphere is nice though!
We came here for dinner and we got some chicken skewers, pad tai with shrimp, Bun Bo Hue. The food was good but kinda small portions. The service was good and they had a nice sitting area in the back outside by the water. Prices weren't bad.
South East Asian Kitchen is a humble restaurant located in a strip mall, but it features a spacious outdoor area with a lovely view of the Hudson River. The menu offers a variety of Thai and Vietnamese dishes. While the wings are delicious, they are a bit pricey at $16 for just six wings, and they're on the larger side—something to consider if you're particular about the source of your chicken. The pho is excellent, and the restaurant is BYOB, so you can sip on your favorite beverage while enjoying the scenic view. Overall, I highly recommend this place.
I ordered the Vegan Pho, which was my first time trying this dish. The portion was surprisingly large for one person. Overall, the meal was decent, so I would rate it about 6 to 6.5 out of 10. I spent around an hour there, including the waiting time. However, the waitress seemed to hover around my table, checking in every five minutes to see if I liked the food or if I was finished. As someone dining alone, it felt as if she wanted me to leave as quickly as possible. Despite the lovely view, I had a hard time finding a moment of peace during my visit. When I left the restaurant, once again, no one acknowledged my departure with a goodbye or even a smile. I would recommend considering other dining options instead.

The food at this restaurant was outstanding! Although we visited on a rainy day and couldn’t sit outside, it didn’t affect our experience at all. Our waiter was attentive and provided excellent service. It was my first time trying Thai tea, and I found it absolutely delightful. My friend ordered the passion fruit bubble tea, which was quite good—the boba was a bit softer than he prefers, as he likes it chewier, but he still enjoyed it. For appetizers, we started with the Banh Mi, and for our main courses, we had chicken pad Thai and pork chops. The pork chops were generously portioned with three substantial pieces, making it a great value, even though we’re used to seeing smaller portions served together. I did take off one star because the tables and chairs were a bit dirty and sticky, but overall, we would definitely come back!
The Mango and Avocado summer rolls are wonderfully refreshing! The spicy curry mussels are truly delicious. You can enjoy breathtaking, breezy views of the Hudson River, located just across from Grant's grave on the Upper West Side.
I had an amazing experience at the restaurant! Although it was quite busy on Friday night, we were promptly seated indoors while waiting for outdoor seating. Our waitress, Nicole, was wonderfully friendly and took her time with our order, providing excellent suggestions that matched our tastes perfectly. The food was surprisingly affordable compared to typical NYC prices. We sampled a variety of spring rolls, and the mango and avocado ones were especially refreshing; the grilled shrimp was also excellent. The Bahama Mama sandwiches were outstanding, and the special bowl was just as enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend visiting this place; parking in the strip mall was convenient, and the views of the city were stunning!
We came here one day after going to Sojo Spa. We were starving and we ordered a lot of food. It was very good. By far one of those places that I will crave always. The fries were amazing with the sauce they had on. It’s a beautiful place with great prices. I will definitely come back again.
Thank you, Joanne for making our first experience here unforgettable! Wonderful food, amazing view and professional staff. Joanne is the best server ever, and thanks to her, we discovered the guava and mango cheesecake, which is DIVINE. You can bring your own booze and your four legged buddy, if you sit outside.
