What delicious f... read more Last night my husband and I had dinner in the restaurant (so didn't sleep in the hotel) and we're surprised they don't have a bib gourmand yet. What delicious food and for a nice price. We both had the tuna in advance. We received a generous portion of fresh sour marinated tuna, with a simple and appropriate garnish of green asparagus and sea grass. I had the vegetarian main course with fried polenta: it was great. Crispy baked polenta, the fourme dámbert was present just enough without dominating, grilled vegetables, really a party on the plate. My husband had the picanha with port sauce. Nice and tender meat, just pink enough with a delicious sauce. For dessert I chose the coffee with friandises, I got no less than 8 small surprises on a dish. Everything from our own kitchen: butter cake, cheesecake and other delicacies. My husband chose the chef's dessert, which turned out to be a mango dessert with yoghurt ice cream, mango compote and a mango gel, nice and fresh-sweet and not too strong. The staff are friendly and helpful, the service was quick, in short: eat here if you're in the Echteld area, or drive a little way, it's really worth it.

The male receptionist I... read more Happily surprised with the airconditioning in the room and the quality of the breakfast buffet. I talked to two different receptionists. The male receptionist I talked to really understands the business. He is friendly, efficient and keeps his promises and makes sure the rooms will be paid for. The female receptionist seemed to be a bit lost. Didn't work efficiently at all, forgot to put the room keys to the guests names before laying all the keys on the counter . Then she left to go do something at the bar while leaving all room keys on the counter, unsupervised. It was a bit chaotic and she didn't seem to have the situation under control. I hope the hotel is making time to train her better.

Especially if, like us, you are a guest at a wedding in the castle. Rooms a bit on the small side. And 1, in our view, a major drawback: the skylight can only be closed or wide open. You sleep directly under it, so open is not nice. And certainly not when it starts to rain at night. So then closed it.... Got a bit stuffy warm. A small adjustment to the window so that you can open it a crack would be a big plus.
