Red Star Cafe - Eastland

I order a BLT at every restaurant that offers them. You would be surprised on how much of a test that can be. They are trickier to make than most might think. Here at the diner the BLT was wonderful. Just enough mayo, tomatoes, and bacon. Yes, there can be too much or too little of these ingredients. I dislike when my bacon pulls out of the sandwich when I bite but I don’t want it the consistency of bacon bits either. The bacon here was perfect. It was just enough crunch that it broke off when I bit into it but it wasn’t overdone. If there was anything I would change about the BLT here, I would add just a little more lettuce. The refreshing crunch and spray of the lettuce really brightens the sandwich. I also had the mashed potatoes, gravy free. Excellent consistency and perfect seasoning. Not too much but enough to set my tastebuds dancing. My husband had the Chicken fried Chicken and he is quite picky. He sends his compliments as well. He was very satisfied. We look forward to dining there again. The chief is definitely worthy of praise. Thank you for the meal.

Very clean and good food plus a great variety. I recommend trying this out. Four stars

TERRIBLE SERVICE we had male waiter that walked past us 4 times before acknowledging us then drinks went empty had to go to counter myself . Disappointed

I wasn't excited when my husband pulled into a gas station for lunch. But I was very supportive. Restaurant very clean and bright. Cute decor, complete with a cute bar with stools. Great service. The food was great, and portions were large. Wish I would have had room for a piece of the Italian Cream cake displayed on the bar. It looked delicious. I definitely will stop next time coming through here.

Chicken fried steak is incredible!!! Save room for the peach cobbler!! Just like grandma’s. Great job Sam Kimber and the crew at Redline
