Nauset Ice Cream - Eastham

The ice cream here is excellent. However, the process of ordering and finding a seat can be a bit cramped.

Fantastic service! Amazing ice cream! Year after year, they consistently deliver the same excellent ice cream and service! We always look forward to visiting every time we're on the Cape!

I thought I might have COVID and had lost my sense of taste, but it turns out the ice cream was just flavorless.

They offer a wide range of flavors and daily specials! The kiddie size portion was plenty big for me. I tried the pistachio, which was fantastic, and the cookie dough, which was also enjoyable, though I felt there were a bit too many chocolate pieces in it. We did have to wait due to a long line around 9 PM, but they moved quickly. The only downside was that it felt a bit chaotic inside.

On a neutral note, the shop is styled like an old-fashioned ice cream parlor, which adds a certain charm, though it was quite dark inside, making it a bit difficult to see. Unfortunately, there were some negatives. I specifically visited to try a couple of flavors advertised on their website, but those were the only ones unavailable. Additionally, the ice cream was overly soft, and I had to have my cone placed in a cup. I understand that given the high volume of customers, they might struggle to keep the ice cream firm, but I believe the shop should invest in more efficient freezers if this is a recurring issue. The staff were diligent about closing the doors quickly after scooping, so I don’t blame them. Most importantly, the ice cream itself was disappointing. I tried the pistachio, which had a strong taste of artificial almond flavoring, and the banana, which tasted like banana candy. Personally, I prefer my banana ice cream to contain real bananas.
