1st time here, opted for the veggie breakfast in the end, a nice choice and a good daily specials menu too! Have to return to try more. Nice friendly staff and good layout inside. Would have given it 5 stars but the kitchen was fairly smokey and that ended up inside where you eat! Maybe best to eat outside if you don't want to smell of cooked food.

The atmosphere in the shop is always cozy and relaxed and we always have a good chat with the chefs who serve the food, who are clearly passionate about their business. Always delicious coffee and delicious fresh deli food and cakes! Roots is always my place to go to Eastbourne to catch up with a coffee, a lunch alone or a vegetarian breakfast that barely touches the sides. Thanks, Roots! You're a jewel of Eastbourne!
