I can't rate this place high enough! Amazing food, lovely staff and atmosphere. My son even told the waiter I'd pay $2000 for this meal It was a clear winner and kids don't lie. View all feedback.
What Ariel Herman doesn't like about Meekin:
First time diners here looking forward to a curry. The fish cakes (entree) and main courses (red chicken curry and massaman beef curry) were good- but the desert sticky rice and coconut ice cream was awful sent back. When we arrived we were offered the usual water options and we ordered sparkling then told it was not available (OK no big deal). My family went here for dinner on a Sunday eveningIt was pretty quiet but still wonderful.
This restaurant has great Thai food and if you go early it's nice and quiet Don't be put off by the street exterior - inside is lovely.
Tasty morsels however small portions per price. I haven't dined in but recently had the disappointment of calling for a takeaway only to be told the kitchen had closed. Don't state on your menu that last orders is 9 pm if you're not going to remain open, it's simply lying and not conducive to repeat business.
This place used to be galangal restaurant and it was absolutely fantastic! Have to say that the roast duck red curry is too yummy to be missed! The chicken with basil stir fry is also nice. The taste of the food at Meekin now has not changed much but it's less explosive and a little bit more expensive compared to the old restaurant. Been to Thailand many times I've expected it to be a little spicier than what it is now. Perhaps I should be a bit clearer when ordering next time, I guess it's the Asian in me that's talking since I love the authentic Thai spicy food.
Arguably the best Thai food I've had in Perth. Took my family here and they were all extremely pleased with the food and service. Will definitely return.
