Contribute FeedbackThe Stone Lion, located in the Beaches area, provides a pleasant atmosphere with two patios perfect for enjoying a drink while people watching. The staff is friendly and attentive, with a warm and cozy feel. While the food received mixed reviews in terms of taste and preparation, the service was generally good. Some customers experienced long wait times and disappointment with the food, while others had excellent dining experiences and highly recommend the lunch menu. With a variety of craft beers and daily specials, this local spot has its ups and downs but remains a popular choice for many.
Can't say much about the food, but the nachos were good even though the guacamole was that stuff that comes from a plastic bag ($4!) and the tomatoes and onion listed with the nachos was virtually nonexistent. Enjoy the beer and patio instead...
I was ok with this place when they seriously thinned out their dinner menu. It still served its purpose as a solid local spot with a decent patio and and alright beer selection. What I was not ok with was when my 3 friends and I (only about 2 drinks deep might I add) were asked to leave at 1:30 because "the place wasn't busy enough". Last I checked that wasn't our problem. Backing up a bit, we were told that last call was going to be at 1AM due to the place being slow. Fine. Whatever. One member of our group went inside and got a beer and was drinking it fairly slowly, obviously under the impression that the place was closing at 2 - you know, like most bars in the city (and allegedly the Stone Lion, according to their hours listed on the door outside). The bouncer came around at 1:25 and told us the patio was closing at 1:30. Again, the reason provided was that the place wasn't busy enough. At 1:30 we were told we couldn't finish our drinks on the patio. The drinks we had already paid for. Also, as. A reminder, the sign outside says the place closes at 2. We were not the only people upset about this, and another paying customer not in our group had a bit of an argument with the bouncer. What I was REALLY not ok with was what the bouncer said after the other upset customer walked out. The bouncer called the guy a ****ing clown. In front of us - paying customers. I've worked in customer service for years. You NEVER badmouth customers in front of customers. Incredibly unprofessional. I'll never go back. A bit of a petty parting shot I guess, but their drinks are overpriced.
Absolut empfehlenswert! Hier kann man zu jeder Zeit sein kühles Bier oder eine Kleinigkeit zum Essen zu sich nehmen. In uriger Stimmung in der Queen st. Quirlige Umgebung. Echtes multi kulti
This restaurant was excellent...great service...great food...very friendly and attentive staff. Would highly recommend for lunch...the portions are also very generous.
I love self-guided walking tours of different neighbourhoods in Toronto. It's a fun way to explore all of the unique areas of the city. This month, my husband and I checked out The Beach and it was wonderful! We ended the day at the Stone Lion - they had an eye-catching (and large) patio, and a decent drink & food menu suitable for us both. While the vegetarian options were slim, I was able to eat well!! Their sangria was amazing - among the best I've had. And our server was extremely friendly and attentive too.
