With a warm and friendly atmosphere, it offers a varied menu featuring generous portions of well-prepared dishes. Highlights include the delicious prawn, tomato, and spinach risotto and homemade pork scratchings. While the ambiance can be lively—sometimes overly so—most patrons appreciate the attentive service and welcoming vibe. Though there have been occasional hiccups, particularly during busy times, the quality of the food and commitment to customer satisfaction have garnered the pub a loyal following. A must-visit for those seeking hearty meals in a charming setting.
Located near Wychnor Park, this pub comes highly recommended and is easy to find in the village center, just a minute's drive away. It is conveniently situated across the road from Co-Op, making it easy to pick up any self-catering supplies. The parking is simple and there is very friendly and attentive service during both of our visits. The locals are also friendly, adding to the welcoming atmosphere of the pub. The menu is varied and offers plentiful portions that are well-prepared. The pizza was delicious and made for a great snack when reheated the next day. The double-baked French fries were worth the extra calories.
This pub used to be a good spot in the village, but it has gone downhill. I went on a Friday night for dinner and it was too noisy to have a conversation without shouting. The service was very slow and the food was mediocre. The chips were soggy and the onion rings were overcooked. Overall, it was not worth the money.
I went to The Bell for a casual lunch. We ordered the lamb koftas and Korean chicken lollipops. Both dishes were delicious and well-prepared. I highly recommend trying them. The service was friendly and efficient. Overall, it was a pleasant lunch experience. I will definitely be returning soon.
Positiw: portion size, taste, setting and ambiente, service. prawn, tomato and spinat risotto was very delicious. negatiw: can be loud, chips were very well cooked almost too much. reispudding crème Brûlée was simply reispudding without the crème brûlée. overall, cheap with...a beautiful ambiente. probably would like to experience other pubs.
Excellent service, much better since taken over by Derby brewing. Evie seemed to have everything in hand and our evening was a pleasure from start to finish
