Caffe Capri - East Rutherford

Listen, everyone has there own good or bad experience. Truth be told not every chef or cook is on his or her A game or it could even be a new chef. There's multiple reasons why you might've had a bad experience. Food wise or service. This is mysecond time ordering (haven't dined in person yet) and the food is phenomenal. So I can only imagine when I dine in at cafecapri. 2nd time me and my gf had the spaghetti carbonara and penne al a vodka. Both times we were very impressed!

This is not a hidden gem, what a disaster! We got there and our waiter looked like he was asleep, took forever to bring us drinks and take out order. The menu had one price but then when we got the bill everything was $5 more. I brought it up to theowners attention and he said that they didn’t get a chance to change the menus and that everything had gone up. I understandthat but we should have been given a heads up when they brought out the menu. After raising this to him he asked me to leave a 5star review online, I just laughed. Food was horrible, no taste and definitely not worth the price. $30 for one piece of chickenand some veggies. Won’t be back.

Stay away from this place! First time we went there, food was good, and we decided to go back. Bad idea. We ordered a starter for 2, a pizza (for me), and a salmon dish (for GF). Starter was OK. My pizza was not good at all (dry, canned mushrooms, etc).GF's plate arrived 5 minutes after mine. The fish was spoiled. She was offered to exchange it, and picked seafood linguine. Thenwe waited. And waited. And waited. It was 4PM on a Saturday, the place was almost empty, so they didn't have any excuse. Aftermore than a half hour, we lost patience, and decided to leave. I asked for the check, for the two items we had been served.Then, magically, the linguine appeared. We said we were leaving, we had had it. I paid for the starter and the pizza in cash($40, as per the menu), and we walked to our car. They called the police, and did not allow us to leave their parking, standingin the way to block the exit. Police arrived and listened to each side's story. When I showed the officer my Google Timeline,proving that we had been in there for 1h30, he walked in the restaurant, talked to the owner, came back, and said that it was upto us, we could either pay for the linguine and take it away, but no obligation, we could also leave. Which we did. I wish Icould give negative stars to those thugs. And 5 to the police.

Excellent gourmet Italian food with nice service, but for the price, I wish the food had more flavor. Top tier dessert though 10/10 would recommend the cannoli

Fantastic service from start to finish. We came in and we’re the only ones in the restaurant and our waiter really went the extra mile to make our experience special, food was great to. Please don’t let the negative reviews sway you. This place is ahidden gem, give them some business.
