Was Dave M at Jaded Java a mag?
I have been here several times recently. The prices are great compared to some other coffee shops around. My wife loves the chunky monkey blended coffee drink. It has peanut butter, bananas, and espresso. I have tried several drinks and they were all good. View all feedback.
Be sure to stop by and say hello to Tami and her team! And don't forget to enjoy a hot cup of coffee or hot chocolate!
The exterior of Jaded Java is quite modest, marked only by a green awning on an older brick and stucco building. However, the interior is surprisingly modern, featuring dark stone-colored tiles, a set of cozy chairs near the entrance, and a coffee and alcohol bar further back. The ceiling is open, showcasing the conduit and HVAC ductwork, while the lighting consists of single bulb fixtures hanging from the ceiling. The combination of the dark ceiling, a brick wall on one side, and beige-painted drywall on the other creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. Like many bars and restaurants in Illinois, Jaded Java has a section for video slot machines. While these slots seemed new and well-maintained, I wish Illinois would allow for land-based casinos to eliminate the need for these machines in cafes. Their presence disrupts the otherwise pleasant ambiance. After a brief conversation with the barista, I decided to order a hot chocolate. Once I got my drink, I found a somewhat comfortable chair behind the slot machines and settled in to read my book. The hot chocolate was quite good for just $2—I would gladly come back for it! It was rich and creamy, and I didn't burn my tongue after the first sip. The atmosphere was enhanced by the gentle music playing during my visit. Whoever chose the playlist had a knack for selecting light 70s and 80s tunes, including tracks from Led Zeppelin and The Beatles. The volume was just right for quiet conversations or reflection, which is exactly what I needed from a small café. I hope they keep up this delightful vibe. If Jaded Java were closer to my home in Bettendorf, I could see myself dropping by frequently. Unfortunately, it’s quite a distance away, so I probably won’t be back any time soon. However, if you’re looking for a cozy place to relax in East Moline during the afternoon, I recommend giving Jaded Java a try. Thanks for the excellent hot chocolate! **Vegetarian Options:** There wasn't much food available during my visit, but coffee, tea, and many pastries would certainly qualify as vegetarian. I wouldn’t come here specifically for a vegetarian meal, though. **Kid-Friendly:** I noticed families with young children visiting in the afternoon. While I wouldn’t suggest bringing them in the evening, the daytime environment was suitable for kids. **Parking:** There’s ample street parking right next to and across from the café, plus a free lot a few storefronts away.
I absolutely love this charming little spot! They serve great coffee and a nice selection of alcoholic beverages, including some unique mixed drinks. You definitely have to try the Jaded Russian!
