Diners appreciate attentive service and a pleasant atmosphere but express concerns over breakfast options, particularly the extra charges for mushrooms and the absence of chips. While most meals arrive promptly, some patrons have faced delays. The carvery is praised for its hot trimmings and vegan options, though certain festive expectations fell flat. Overall, with its charming decor and friendly staff, the establishment has potential for a stellar dining experience, though it could benefit from refining its offerings and processes.
Even tho there was a queue for the carvery it was worth the wait, friendly customers and staff.
Called in for breakfast today(14th) and,as always, it was first class . My wife and I have tried several Stonehouse pubs and the Jug and Bottle has got to be the best one of them all . We travel from Manchester to Skegness every week and depending on the time of day, we always call in to the Jug and Bottle for either, breakfast or a carvery .Great food, great price and the staff are always friendly .
Went for carvery as been before and always enjoyed it. On arrival sig ip saying due to equipment fault so mo mash on. Have they not heard of potato masher or a mixer. Very disappointed didn't stay
Food tasted wonderful. The flavour of individual vegetables, meats gammon, beef or turkey and even the gravy was superb. Was able to book a table, no problem, got very busy very soon after 5pm,.glad we booked. Ambience was perfect for all. We'll done everyone.
Giving a star is being overly generous, considering from the moment we walked in til we left, utterly appalling. The place was very empty when we arrived but there was not one member of staff about, waited at the bar, looked around and had...to catch the eye of a member of staff to be served. Asked for the breakfast, adults and a bowl. with teas and a fruit juice. Got ourselves seated, had to ask someone to be served once again at the breakfast bar. Had to ask again for beans, got told off for helping myself to mushrooms. There should be staff there to direct me and assist me instead scolding me. Would not pay for the shrivelled and cold mushrooms that I helped myself to. Nor would I pay for the hair found on the bacon. There was no hot water to make myself a cup of tea so had to have coffee once again no one around to ask for hot water. No butter for the toast and no spoons for the hot drinks or the kids bowl breakfast. No welcome, no check back and no way would we return. There are way far better places to have breakfast, which offers a warm welcome and friendly and attentive staff the jug and bottle is not that place.
