Chapelure - East Lansing

I used to really really love this place but I feel like the quality has gone down a LOT in recent years while prices have still steadily risen. Their croissants used to be the best around but recently they taste like they're made with only shortening/margarine, so they're just blandly greasy instead of buttery the way a croissant should be. Bums me out to pay $6 for a bakery treat that tastes like it came from a supermarket.But the coffee is still good!

Food choices a bit meh, no pastries but lots of expensive desserts. Coffee is great and staff is friendly. Clean and classy lobby area.

Decent vibes, mostly older folks. Their oreo cake tastes of nothing, only thing you can taste is the whipped cream. Americano also is subpar.

Wonderful pastries... Many I used to make in bakeries I have worked in... Danish was light, buttery and flakey, just like they should be! Will be back!

Gotta try it to believe it!. It's true what they have said about Chapelure. Everything is made in HOUSE and FRESH....that's if you get there before 3pm. Most of em sell out by then...mostly the popular danishes. Their cakes...well like I said, you gotta see and try it to believe it. THEY"RE AWESOME. I even saw their pastry chefs making some sort of wedding cake in the kitchen. It's AMAZING!!!! The prices are up there, kind of, but I'll pay it. It's that good! Love the Mango and Choco. mousse cake. Coffees are amazing too. WATCH OUT Starbucks BIGGBY!! Mostly, I love the customer service. They even warm up the ceramic coffee cups for you.
