Papa's Wings Seafood - East Haven

The food was terrible!! In my opinion, people don't know what delicious food is...

I recently tried the catfish at this restaurant and it tasted just like the catfish I've had in New Orleans. The food was delicious and I had a wonderful conversation with Papa. The restaurant was nice and clean with a great atmosphere and friendly people. Thank you, Papa, I will definitely be back. - Joe ??

I was so impressed by my experience at this restaurant that I felt compelled to write a review. I have visited a few times, including during and after the pandemic, and most recently this week. As a native of Connecticut, where I have always been spoiled by delicious seafood and even worked in a fish market growing up, I can confidently say that this restaurant rivals some of my favorite spots. I ordered the shrimp and clam strips with a side of hush puppies, and everything was perfect. The cajun seasoning was incredible, reminiscent of New Orleans style, and the dishes were cooked perfectly with just the right amount of batter. I found the portion sizes to be generous and the prices fair, especially in these times of inflation. Even the coleslaw, which I am very particular about and usually only enjoy from one specific place (Fish Tale), was great. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Chicken strips with the dry jerk or western heat rubs are my favorite. I dream about them at night.

WOW. The food was very good. The chicken wings and tenders are so crispy. The pork is very flavorful and juicy. Great prices for the amount of food. I recommend it to people who like soul food. Candied yams, collard greens, mac cheese, and much more. Great place. The only thing I would have liked is a better sitting area.
