Dropped by on 3 separate occasions during our recent holiday to Sidmouth, twice for breakfast, and once for afternoon tea. All the food we had was delicious and of good quality. I had a breakfast roll, a full English and an afternoon cream tea over our 3 visits. Even better was that they were in the Eat Out To Help Out scheme, so it was all half price! What Geoffb14 doesn't like about The At Sidmouth Garden Centre:
We could not believe they had not displayed the wrong code for scanning to use the track and trace app. You had to use the same pen as other people to fill in your phone number. The chains and tablets had not been moved to be distanced the back of my wife’s chair was touching the chair behind. We have been visiting this restaurant for many years during our time living in Devon, and have always enjoyed fresh and delicious meals. However, our recent experience was disappointing. The Roast Beef I ordered was tough and chewy, and the entire meal was lukewarm despite being served with gravy. The roast potatoes were undercooked and clearly not prepared that morning. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, the server insisted that the potatoes were fresh, which was insulting. Although he apologized after seeing the quality of the potatoes, I understand that he is not the cook. Another table received a roast beef dinner with freshly cooked meat and potatoes, highlighting the inconsistency in quality. We will be returning to Exmouth Kings in the future, where we know we can rely on a better dining experience.
Lovely staff and gorgeous meal. Can't believe the size of the lasagna. Cakes and pastries were huge and looked yummy too. Finished off with a wader around the garden centre and browse in the Christmas shop
Excellent food reasonable prices. Great menu lots of choice of mains desserts and yummy home made cakes. Friendly staff and quick service.
Often pop into the Garden centre on our way home from shopping in Sidmouth. The advantage is that there are loads of tables and you can even sit outside if there is just a hint of sun as the outside space is a sun trap. We had coffee and on my latest visit an Eccles Cake, absolutely delicious.
We visited this restaurant for lunch and were impressed by the delicious food and the charming outdoor seating area. We ended up buying too many plants on our way out, but they all look fantastic!
