We were recommended this pub in our welcome guide at our Air BnB, so decided to give it a go! We decided to share a selection of garlic breads normal, Cheddar and Stilton! As a huge blue cheese fan, I had never had Stilton garlic bread before huge game changer!! Also, the garlic bread is served on tiger bread.. this is also very nice!! My brother and I had the 10oz Rump Steaks, medium/rare. Both were cooked to perfec... View all feedback.
What GoPlaces44234711370 doesn't like about Cannon Inn:
The food was average and for the prices they charge you expect better. I ordered there specialty burger and the burger was so dry! And I’d only what I imagine dog food to taste like. It’s a shame because the other stuff was okay but again not great. I told the waitress about that and there was no apology she just took the food away and didn’t even offer for us to look at deserts menu even though she asked the table n... View all feedback.
We popped in for a drink last week and were greeted with some very friendly and welcoming staff. The play area is great. We’ll definitely be back for food soon.
What a great discovery! We were searching for a place to have drinks with a play area for our son. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by the bartender who was very knowledgeable about the ciders available. She even recommended specific glasses for different drinks and offered cold drinks from the fridge. She was extremely accommodating and friendly. The pub has a traditional atmosphere and the landlady is very welcoming.
We stopped at this restaurant along the East Devon Way and were greeted by incredibly friendly staff who were very welcoming and chatty. Steve, the owner, went out of his way to teach us how to play skittles and answer our questions about the pub's history. We highly recommend this authentic countryside pub, it's a 10/10 experience.
My husband and I stopped by the Cannon for lunch last Saturday, it had been quite some time since our last visit. There was plenty of parking available, and we were greeted warmly as we walked into the restaurant. The menu offered a variety of options, and we chose table 8 to sit at. We ordered at the bar, selecting a pot of tea for two along with a small ham, egg, and chips dish, and liver with bacon, onions, mashed potatoes, three types of vegetables, and gravy. Our tea arrived promptly, and we enjoyed our first cup while taking in the simple decor of the room. Our meals were served by the friendly lady who welcomed us earlier, and we were impressed by the high quality of the ham, chips, egg, liver, bacon, onions, mash, and vegetables. The lady even checked in to ensure we were satisfied with our food. Everything was clean and the service was attentive. We found the price of our pub lunch to be reasonable and we will remember the Cannon for its friendly service.
We stayed in a nearby village and used this great little family run pub several times . Very friendly welcome , with a couple of nice real ales and good wine . Dinner one night was very good and great value . Brie pie starter was a particular favourite . Certainly worth a visit
