A lovely café featuring a charming, peaceful garden in the heart of Axminster. We enjoyed sitting in the sun while savoring a delightful bowl of homemade spicy squash and sweet potato soup. The prices were very affordable, and the staff were incredibly friendly. We'll definitely be returning!

A hidden, quirky gem in the centre of Axminster. The cafe makes use of the old town jail cells as part of it's layout. The decor is shabby chic with a mixture of tables, chairs and sofas. Beautiful garden with bandstand, a central point for entertainment at times during the summer. The menu is quite standard fare, but done well. Be prepared for a bit of a wait at busy times. This place can be popular.

I visited the Axminster Arts Cafe on Monday, June 22, 2019, with the Devon Link-Up hiking group. I found the food and the atmosphere to be quite pleasant, and the garden was very vibrant, particularly the architecture. This was my first experience in Axminster, aside from passing through by train.

Cute little cafe off the courtyard with plenty of seating inside, and outside in the pretty garden. Food was tasty and prices reasonable. It was a pleasant experience and I would return when next in the area.
