It's... read more Striking Edwardian pub in a prominent corner location, the Foresters has a very traditional unspoilt interior, retaining its original multi roomed layout. It's a Fuller's house and the majority of the ales come from the Fuller's portfolio. Food is Thai. I do feel this place could easily be a five star pub, but I've dropped it a star for two reasons: Firstly, whilst the Thai food was very good, with delicious flavours, the meat was not as tender as we had hoped for perhaps next time we will opt for chicken dishes rather than beef. Secondly, the staff are not as friendly as one would expect when visiting a pub. They're not hostile or anything like that, but it would be nice if they could just be a bit more welcoming. Overall though, this is a decent pub and we would not hesitate revisiting.

The portions were huge, and now they also offer a fantastic selection of beers. I highly recommend this place!

Thanks to the excellent organization by manager Natalie and her team, the event... read more I reserved the upstairs room for a private party of 30 people in December 2019. Thanks to the excellent organization by manager Natalie and her team, the event was a great success. The room looked beautiful with Christmas lights, tables arranged elegantly around the sides, and a disco set up in the window alcove. Guests complimented the setup, saying no additional decorations were needed. Natalie and I agreed to have drinks organized for the party, including sparkling, red, and white wine. We discussed the quantity of bottles in advance. A member of the staff was assigned for the evening to take orders for soft drinks, beer, and lager from the bar, as well as to assist with the wine service. Sophia discreetly kept me updated throughout the evening on wine consumption and the bar tab, allowing me to control when to close it. Originally dissatisfied with the buffet menu options, I was introduced to Nok, a Thai cook, who suggested looking through the takeout menu to create a custom menu at a per head price. The food was delicious, reasonably priced, and accommodated vegetarian guests. Nok and another staff member also helped serve throughout the evening. The event was well-organized and ran smoothly. This was a great venue for a birthday party, and I highly recommend The Foresters. Huge thanks to everyone involved!
