The food went way beyond what my husband and I had expected. We're from Anchorage and stopped at a parking lot to taste test and we were blown away. Jerky tacos...a must. Goat curry...gotta try. Brown chicken...bomb dot com. And lastly, our chicken and shrimp bowl is as delicious as all others. Too bad we're in Anchorage or else we'd be there daily. View all feedback.
What Unsatisfied Customer doesn't like about Da J3rk Spot:
Went to this restaurant on the recommendation of a co-worker. Food was good, however the menu states two slices of sweet fried plantain is included in the meal. They were out of the plantain but nothing was said or other item offered. Also, our order included three beverages that were paid for but once our order was brought out to us they stated we did not order or pay for any beverages. Unfortunately when the order... We met the owner at a recent local business event and we had to make the drive to Eagle River to support a fellow West Indian Queen. We are so happy that we did! The food was DELICIOUS and took us back to our times in NY and Philly!Every dish was wonderful and the mac cheese was the BEST in Anchorage (so creamy). The jerk had the perfect blend of spices and savory flavor. We will DEFINITELY revisit in the future!
This place is exactly what Eagle River needed. An authentic ethnic cuisine!! Every dish is made to order, which allows maximum attention to each and every dish. The flavors are out of this world! The service is top notch and the staff is crazy friendly. Your taste buds are their number 1 priority! I've never had a bad meal!
This place is a hidden gem! I did not expect to find such an authentic Carribbean spot in Eagle River. The menu has several things I'd want to keep coming back for. The curry shrimp was excellent with a good amount of heat, and it tasted just like home (I'm Carribean). The jerk chicken taco was amazing! 10/10 on that smoky jerk flavor and this is a very approachable dish for somebody not familiar with Caribbean cuisine. You'll get that same great flavor from ordering the whole wings. The plantains, cabbage, and rice were all perfect not just complimentary sides, but enhancing the meal. They have an interesting variety of jerk sauces.; they were out of original when I visited, but spicy honey and mango were enjoyable. Beef patty was flaky, a little spicy, and also gets the island stamp of approval. Portions were large; 2 wings 2 legs and 2 wings. Do me a favor locals, and keep Da J3rk Spot in business!!
The food was delicious and freshly prepared. The patties were yummy though I’ve never paid $7 for a patty before. I’d definitely go back but next time I’ll order before arriving. Everything is made to order so we waited 30 minutes for our food. It was definitely worth the wait though. I wish there was a branch of this restaurant in Anchorage to save us the drive to Eagle River.
