Skillet
Description
Nestled in Eagle Pass, this local eatery presents a blend of culinary highs and lows. While standout dishes like the Tall Texan breakfast and fluffy pancakes receive rave reviews for quality and flavor, some patrons report disappointing meals, such as soggy fries and underwhelming club sandwiches. Service appears to be hit or miss, with complaints about delays and inattentiveness alongside remarks on friendly staff. Despite the inconsistent experiences, the restaurant maintains an inviting atmosphere and affordability, making it a potential spot for adventurous diners—though caution may be warranted regarding food quality and cleanliness.

Every Friday, I usually have breakfast at a Denny's or IHOP. Since there wasn't one in Eagle Pass, I decided to try Skillets instead. I wasn't disappointed—the Tall Texan I ordered was a generous portion and the food was delicious. I do prefer my pancakes to be fluffier, but overall I was satisfied. I will definitely return.
I recently had lunch at this establishment, and while the experience had its ups and downs, it ultimately left me wanting more. The food was quite disappointing, earning a rating of just 2 out of 5. The dishes lacked flavor and creativity, which made it hard to enjoy the meal, especially considering the price range of $10 to $20 per person. On a brighter note, the service was commendable. The staff were attentive and friendly, providing good support throughout my visit, which I rated a solid 4 out of 5. The atmosphere of the restaurant also deserves praise. It had a pleasant and inviting environment, earning another score of 4 out of 5. In conclusion, while the service and ambiance were enjoyable, the food fell short. I hope they can improve their menu in the future.
