Beggar's Pizza - Dyer
Beggar's Pizza
Description
Beggar's Pizza has long been a favorite for many, celebrated for its delicious pies and notable fried mushrooms. However, recent visits have revealed a concerning decline in both food quality and customer service. Patrons have reported issues such as inconsistent toppings, unaddressed complaints, and a lack of managerial presence to resolve concerns. While some still cherish the offerings and commend the delivery service, others have been left feeling disheartened and offended by their experiences. This restaurant, once a local gem, now faces challenges that could deter devoted customers from returning.

During my few days in Chicago, I made it a point to stop by my favorite pizza place. The food and service were excellent. I truly wish there was a Beggar's Pizza in Vegas.
The pizza at Beggar's Pizza is good, but the service leaves much to be desired. As members of their rewards club, I received an email on August 26 offering free cheesy bread for my birthday on September 4. When we ordered pizza and the cheesy bread, we were charged for the bread. I showed the staff the email, but the young employees couldn’t find the offer in the system. One of them went to get the manager, but he refused to come out and speak with us. This is the second time we've had issues at Beggar’s. Whenever we ask to speak with the manager, he avoids it. The employees seemed visibly nervous, so I thanked them for trying and assured them it wasn’t their fault. When we shared this experience with others, they weren’t surprised, as they’d had similar problems with the manager refusing to engage. It’s disappointing and sad to see a place going downhill like this.
I've generally enjoyed the pies at this restaurant, and previous issues were always addressed satisfactorily. However, I recently experienced a serious problem when I bit into a foreign object in one of the pies, which chipped my tooth. I reached out to the restaurant, and while they offered to replace the pizza, I had already scheduled a dentist appointment and intended to use my insurance to cover the expenses. I felt it was fair to ask them to take responsibility for any costs not covered by my insurance. During my conversation with the gentleman there, he mentioned that he often deals with people trying to take advantage of him, which I understood. Unfortunately, by the end of our talk, it felt like he was implying that I was also trying to scam him. Because of this, I have decided to pay for my dental work out of pocket and will not be returning to this restaurant for pizza in the future. I hope my review serves as a helpful warning to others.
I spent over $40 on a pizza with extra toppings, but sadly, the toppings were missing. When I raised this issue with Beggars-Mary Ann, I was accused of lying. This experience left me feeling quite offended. Despite the inconsistent quality of the food in recent years, I've continued to support this restaurant. However, after this incident, I've decided to take my business elsewhere.
I just picked up a pizza and encountered the most sassy and impolite cashier. When I asked to purchase ranch, she curtly replied, "No." I also inquired about the military discount, but Kiana, the cashier, told me, "No, it's too late; I've already rung it in." The service was awful and the overall experience was disappointing. To top it off, the pizza was extremely overpriced and tasted like cardboard with sauce.
