Amazing! This charming little pub offers a delightful dining experience. The interior and exterior are beautifully furnished, and the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. The service is relaxed, and the menu is so enticing that it was hard to choose a dish! The wine list looks impressive as well. I will definitely need to return for more! The Angus steak burger was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious.... View all feedback.
My partner and I were recently in the johnbarleycorn in duxford and we were strapped by the place. we would not have had a warmer greeting from nick after we spent 5 hours on the road! the room was cozy and warm, clean with generous tea and coffee accessories. the bathroom was small, but we had everything we needed, including much soft white bathroom towels. I hadn't felt like I had eaten a lot in the evening, but I couldn't resist a delicious salad with hot smoked salmon flakes, warm kartoffels and a perfectly picked egg above. then followed a delicious cheesecake and coffee. the breakfast next morning was generous with a lot of hot toast, tee and coffee. we stay in the next year definitiw again!
The most characteristic, charming and quaint country pub. Always busy so best to book. Such a great atmosphere and fab staff who can't do enough for you. Really good wine list, the white Rioja was a particular favourite. Exquisite food tops it off. Shame its 3hrs away, already can't wait to return next June. It's just perfect.
Friendly staff, plenty of space outside with tables in a courtyard or inside. Good quality pub grub which everyone in our party of six agreed was excellent. Small changes were happily accommodated by the staff and nothing seemed too much trouble. Prices were reasonable and 10% service charge was added on which we were happy to pay.
Lovely pub good food highly recommend. Have not stayed but the rooms look very comfortable. This is a convenient half way mark to meet our relatives for a good chat and Sunday lunch
I am from the U.S. and we were in Duxford area for about 5 days in September 2017 and we stayed at this wonderful old English Inn!! The rooms were quaint (don't compare with a modern city hotel) but wonderful fun! The food in the Pub was xlnt we tried almost everything!! The sticky pudding was a wonderful treat!! The people in the Pub are extremely friendly and will help you with whatever you may need. The establishment was originally built in the 1500's and established the greatest atmosphere! Every day the pub was full most evenings you might need a reservation! It was such a delight!!
