Zenfish Poke - Durham

Zenfish is a favorite dining spot due to its fresh and delicious food, as well as the friendly and welcoming staff. My go-to order is a large salad with krab and shrimp, topped with pickled dikon, carrots, corn, pickled onion, and a generous amount of their flavorful sriracha sauce. It never disappoints!

I am excited to share that Zenfish has now bottled two of their most popular sauces: a Vegan and Gluten-Free EEL sauce and HOUSE sauce. Originally made for their poke bowls, these versatile sauces can be used for drizzling, marinating, dipping, and glazing on a variety of dishes such as chicken, beef, fish, dumplings, or rice bowls. Plus, 5% of profits from each bottle will go towards supporting nonprofits that focus on human rights and environmental protection. You can purchase these sauces at any of their stores or online, where they also offer shipping options. I recently grabbed two bottles of sauce and a large poke bowl to go. I appreciate that you can customize your bowl with different grains, proteins, fresh toppings, house-made sauces, and more. The possibilities for creating unique poke flavor combinations are endless. I came to this establishment for dinner, they are super friendly inside and the restaurant has a cute esthetic. However, this was the worse poke bowel I've ever had. When I received my bowel it was nicely presented, upon further inspection I was searching for the fish in it. I ordered crab, spicy tuna and salmon in my bowel. I received 4 pieces of salmon, one or two bites of tuna and a saw a few tiny strips of crab. Super disappointed that I came here for a poke bowel which usually is plugged with seafood and this virtually had none. If you want a poke bowel go elsewhere, I would consider this more of a veggie bowel.

We got office lunch catering from Janet and her team and although we ordered it on a short notice, they went above and beyond our expectations! The ingredients were so fresh and carefully prepared, and the fact that they strive to source locally and responsibly is wonderful as it aligns with our environmental value as a company. Everyone loved the burst of flavors and colors in the office and it is just so fun to build your own bowls. Will definitely come back again!
