I ordered a delivery from here to be sent to my family in NC and they are not disappointed. They said everything tasted great and even the photos made my mouthwater. I ordered the NC BVQ plate, the hot honey chikn plate, and the fried “fish” plate along with a piece of sweet potato cake, a lemon cupcake and the rocky street Fudge. I will visit this place at the next stop by Durham.
Finally stopped and lots of food tried. Soul rolls, drum plate with green and rice. Also tried the fried chicken sandwich, best in the triangle. Well worth the hour and half a ride.
Lots of clearly marked gluten free options AND and this is a rarity for vegan places nut allergens are clearly marked and easily avoidable! Got the shrimp plate with collards and potato salad, all fantastic. Long wait time, but worth it.
The Pure Soul location in South Durham has a storied history and has passed through a lot of hands, but I 'm kind of in love with their current incarnation. Delightsoy chicken products, impossible burgers and both delight BBQ and the locally made BVQ. The Bilbo 's greens have been dialed in to perfection, the macaroni and cheese is a noochy dream, I even frequently get the kale Caesar because it 's tasty. My go to order here is a drumstix plate, southern fried (they use delight soy so the drumstix are delightsoy wrapped around a small wooden dowel with a yuba skin) and some housemate honey mustard , with a rotating cast of sides but usually a green (kale Caesar or Bilbo 's) and a starch (macaroni, fries, cheese fries). They carry desserts from a local business owner and have hosted food trucks/the vegan ice cream man before. And they 're always so kind! It 's just a good spot. Added bonus, pop over to the spice market in the same little shopping center for Indian ingredients and homemade samosas around 1pm on Saturdays. Thanks for being the GOAT, Pure Soul
