I ordered the Captain Smith’s Combo, and everything was fantastic—especially the crab stuffing, fish, and scallops. However, the shrimp was a bit disappointing; it tasted more like battered oil than anything else, as if it had been soaked in oil. Apart from the shrimp, all the other meats were delicious! What Susan Simko doesn't like about Mayflower Xvi Seafood:
We were craving seafood and found this restaurant while searching for nearby options. We had dined at a different Mayflower location years ago, so we decided to give this one a try. The food was acceptable, but nothing particularly stood out. The restaurant was quite empty, which isn't a great sign either. Overall, I would rate the food a 3 out of 5. View all feedback.
The flounder tasted as though the oil was old. I threw it out. The shrimp was extremely tiny, but fine. Hushpuppies were good. Fries were so-so and obviously frozen.Food: 3/5
The food was simply not good. The fish had a layer of uncooked batter between the fish and the crust. The food also needed seasoning. The okra was gummy in a way that I had never experienced before. It was a struggle to even attempt to eat the meal. I will be going elsewhere for my seafood dinners.Food: 1/5
Mayflower is my favorite restaurant! When my Sister her husband arrived from TX I knew I had to take them to Mayflower for the crabcakes that taste exactly like our Mother's coleslaw that tastes like our Grandmother made it! Thank you to the Mayflower staff for being so kind professional. I'll be back!Parking: Right next to the restaurant with a ramp leading to the door.Wheelchair accessibility: Perfect!
Our party of 4 was in town for the weekend and searched for a local seafood place. The menu looked great and the prices looked reasonable. The service, food and portions were exceptional. I could tell they take pride, the presentation, taste and quality of the food went far beyond many other restaurants. Highly recommended.
The highlight of the dinner was Pastor Shirley Ceasar was also in the house this evening!! Food was edible, but not the Mayflower we've known and loved. Carpets need to be thoroughly cleaned or replaced.. and entire restaurant needs a DEEP cleaning!!!Food: 3/5
