Contribute FeedbackKoumi offers a mix of delicious Thai, Vietnamese, and Japanese cuisine. While the sushi may not always hit the mark, the Bun Cha Gio and Pho are standout favorites. Vegan options can be a bit tricky to navigate, but the staff is accommodating once the preferences are clarified. While there are occasional hiccups with customer service and food quality, overall Koumi shines as a go-to spot for tasty Asian takeout in Durham, NC. Options like the Pho soup, Rice Wrap Summer/Spring Rolls, and Pineapple Fry add unique flavors to the menu. Koumi delivers delicious dishes that make it worth a return visit.
I had a great time at this restaurant, enjoying the Pho soup and other dishes. The Rice Wrap Summer/Spring Rolls were also delicious. The atmosphere is a little worn down, but I recognize that times are tough and prices are going up. Some landscaping could really enhance the overall experience. The food is amazing!
I wish I had found this restaurant sooner - it's a hidden gem! The menu offers a wide variety of options, the portions are large, and the crab rangoons are absolutely delicious. Our food came out quickly and the staff was attentive to our needs. I highly recommend this restaurant!
This is the go-to spot if you're looking for variety. The selection of dishes here is incredible, and everything I've sampled has been consistently good. While not everything may be the absolute best in town due to the wide range of options, I personally think it's all very satisfying. I didn't try the sushi because I typically prefer dining at dedicated sushi spots for my raw fish fix. They also have a drive-thru, which I think is convenient for quick pick-ups. Just make sure to avoid going when there's a line, as it's better to park and go inside rather than waiting in the drive-thru for too long.
The restaurant offers delicious pho soup and other dishes! They also serve rice paper Summer/Spring rolls. The atmosphere of the place is a bit dull, but given the current difficult times, I understand. The prices are very affordable. Some landscaping would greatly enhance the overall experience. The food is fantastic!
I had dinner at Koumi tonight and asked for help with ordering because the vegan options were not clearly marked on the menu. The first staff member misunderstood and thought I wanted a dish with no meat. I explained to two other employees that being vegan meant I couldn't have meat, eggs, dairy, or any other animal products, including butter. After I placed my order, another employee asked how to prepare my dish without butter. When I asked if they had oil, the employee seemed confused. I decided to try the Thai pineapple fish dish that was recommended by a previous reviewer, but I found it to be bland and lacking in flavor compared to a similar dish at a Thai restaurant. If I were to come back here, I would choose Japanese or Vietnamese cuisine instead. Overall, I am not in a hurry to return.
