Best place in Durham for dim sum. Get there early because there can be a wait as it fills up quickly. I love being able to speak Cantonese with the servers. Update: My partner and I brought my mother to Hong Kong Restaurant when she visited. The owner took special care to make sure we got the best experience from the authentic Hong Kong cuisine to the lively Cantonese banter and more authentic Hong Kong cuisine. One... View all feedback.
What Meredith Kuhlman doesn't like about Hong Kong Chinese:
The food may be authentic but the service is truly terrible; this small home turned restaurant is over capacity and under staffed. I'm a huge dim sum fan and absolutely love the silver trays, carts of food, and fast moving attentive staff that embody a great dim sum experience. I enjoyed the food, but they only offered our table fried food. To get any other dim sum dish brought to our large table we had to explicitly... View all feedback.
Authentic Cantonese kitchen and large dimming sum. American Chinese cuisine is also quite good. but I am here especially for the dimm that was leased by cart ladies. most dim-sum dishes are freshly prepared or ordered. I recommend the crabs claws, shumai, filled tofu and the castors.
As someone born in hong kong, this restaurant is my favorite restaurant in the opposite. some of their dimming sum are made before site, which is also rare in Hong Kong standard. her beet cake is a must try. it is the result of a complicated cooking process to pour a turnip and boil in boiling water, to mix with rice flour and other ingredients, to steam to a cake, and then to cut and stir. and here, after so many processes, they can still smell and taste the turnip, mix them with the soft rice flour cake and Chinese speck in it. in any case, a dimm-sum in this restaurant must try!
One of my absolute favorite slime spots! my family and I have been here for years. the staff is super friendly and eating is always hot and tasty. Before-Covid they are always muded and usually have long waiting times. Today there was no wait! we have never waited! there are also articles not on the basket, so make sure that they have the reis congee, fried rice and wing!
This is the second dimsum restaurant that I was and say that I was impressed is an understatement! beautiful family run that serves fresh dimsum to order in a quiet city part durham. steamed pork breast, spicy tofu (I'm not even a big tofu fan) Sesame seed and coconut dessert have to be! If they don't want to order from the Dimsum menu, the lo will be my absolutely blowing spirit. I will definitely try again for a weeking dimsum to try the full menu!
Had some really good hot tea to go with Dim Sum. Lots of options to choose from and come hot and fresh, would love to go back! Great to share with friends.
