I rang t... read more We turned up at the pub for our meal which we were really looking forward to it : As we parked up all the lights went out and there was total darkness. I rang the pub several times from the car park and got no answer. I really couldn't work out what was going off. I ended up booking another table somewhere else so my husband and I could eat. I left a message at The Travellers Rest to say if they were having problems I thought it a bit rude that they hadn't taken the time to call their customers that had booked a table to let them know what was happening. We arrived at the next place where we managed to get a table, whilst we were waiting I got a phone call from The Travellers Rest to let me know that the reason the pub was in darkness was that they'd had a power cut and the only reason I got a phone call to let me know was because I had left the voicemail asking what was going on. Unfortunately it also meant that the voucher I had for that night expired before I can get over that way again.

The food was delicious and the staff with polite and friendly. We treated ourselves and indulged in 3 courses. All were nicely presented, hot and very tasty. The ambience was nice and relaxed too. Would definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone. Did find the prices a little much but we had a discount voucher so that made it worthwhile.

As usual, the food and service was brilliant. We love this place.
