Friendly's - Dunmore
Friendly's
Description
Friendly's presents a blend of nostalgic diner vibes and modern elements, yet it struggles to deliver a cohesive dining experience. Despite an extensive menu with generous portions and tasty food, guests frequently encounter slow service and staff unpreparedness. Price points have risen sharply, leaving some patrons disappointed, especially when service lacks warmth and efficiency. While some encounters lead to commendable service from new team members, the overall inconsistency raises concerns. Families and tourists might find appeal in its offerings, but many suggest exploring other locales for a more consistently pleasant atmosphere.

Extremely slow service, old dated building, order was wrong, could hear the staff in the kitchen contest. was there about an hour for 2 sandwiches and a series of the mozzarella sticks. We were one of 4 tables how this place is still open.
Time to close this place down. WAY over priced for a small amount of horrible food. The new menu looks good. But looks are deceiving. This is playtime for what little employees have. You can hear them just being loud and disrespectful. The soup bowls are small, just nothing good to say about this place.
We are from out of town and sadly, they closed all of the Friendly's restaurants in our area (Central VA). I was sooo excited to incorporate this restaurant into our trip. Unfortunately, it is so stale, musty and just weird-smelling, we got sundaes to go rather than eating in like we planned. When I asked to get it to go, the server looked at us like we had three heads. Two sundaes- $16. The carpet tile should have been replaced about 10 years ago as it was sticky and I am sure holding a lot of the objectionable odors. The sundaes weren't bad, but were kind of slapped together. There is another location in Wilkes-Barre which looked much nicer, but we did not go inside. I wish we would have found that one instead.
The food at this restaurant is of good quality and the service is friendly. However, it seems that the kitchen may be understaffed. It would be great if they could start serving breakfast earlier than 9 a.m. every day.
My husband and I stopped by for a meal after a long trip. He had just undergone a procedure in the city and could only eat soft foods. Even though it was already 2:00 in the afternoon and he wanted breakfast, the waitress said she would check with the chef to see if they could accommodate his request. The chef came out and said he would be happy to cook whatever my husband desired. I ordered a burger and my husband had eggs and sausage. We were impressed by the exceptional service and delicious food provided by the staff.
