Every night from Sunday to Wednesday at around 2:30 a.m., my friends and I try to grab McDonald's after our shifts. For the past year, we've been consistently told that “the registers are shutting down for 30 minutes so the system can reboot for the day.” We totally understood and started arriving at 3 a.m. instead, thinking the system would be back up by then. Yet, we still hear the same excuse. We’ve waited up to 15 minutes only to find the system still down, and even when we arrive at 3:30 a.m., it's the same story. We've even rushed over to get there before 2:30 a.m., and they always give us the same response. So, from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m., are they really rebooting the system? One employee mentioned that the manager uses this as an excuse to take a two-hour lunch break. It must be nice to enjoy such a long break while I've just finished a 10-hour shift and can’t get any food, especially since they’re the only place open that’s supposed to be “24 hours a day.” Frustrated, we stopped trying, but last night my boyfriend and I were really hungry, so we gave it another shot. Yet again, they claimed they were doing a “system reboot,” even though we noticed employees just sitting in the lobby. I understand that systems need to reboot, but it shouldn't take two hours every Sunday through Wednesday.
Stuck in drive thru line for 20+ minutes to pick up an app order. Food was not hot either.
The workers that take your orders need to speak fluent and understand English. The kitchen workers need to prepare sandwiches so the contents are not falling off the bun. The upside is the whole staff are friendly and always smiling.
This McDonalds uses the automated ordering system and typically cannot accept credit cards at the kiosk, then you have to go up and pay at the counter.
