Reviews - Captain Ale
Reviews summary
Captain Ale’s pairs lively DJ and band nights with a split operation: a convivial bar and a separate window serving flavorful Puerto Rican dishes. Friendly staff and a pleasant summer patio draw crowds, while inconsistent cleanliness, long or incorrect pizza orders, and the need to order drinks separately frustrate some visitors. Ideal for music-loving casual diners; less suitable for those seeking one-stop, fast, pristine dining.

Ordered a pizza took over an hour to get. Asked for cheese and pepperoni but only got cheese.... They told me the pepperoni they had was all moldy. Took one bite of the pizza and spit it out. The food was gross and just about the entire building wasdirty.... Won't go back there again.
This is an unusual situation for dining. There are two separate businesses operating inside Captain Ale's. If you want a meal step past the bar to the second window and order up some very delicious Puerto Rican food. But if you want anything to drinkwith it you have to go to the bar. As long as you know that going in, things are fine. It's just not what you might expect atfirst. The flavors are good and the service was friendly and efficient. I would come here again.

Gladys was AWESOME behind the bar! All the staff was absolutely wonderful! Wings were great. First time here, from Buffalo to see the band We Three Kings, and this place is overall outstanding! Super nice clean patio! Made some new friends too! We'll definitely be back!

New kitchen begins with many authentic Latino dishes, also wings. A few artisanal beers available
The night I visited the bar, they had a DJ and an active crowd. Unfortunately I found the establishment to be rather dirty which was a disappointment. Certainly nothing special at least for my age demographic (45-55), wouldn't recommend going nor would I want to go again while their outside summer patio area is closed. To be fair, I had gone to the bar during the summer months and really enjoyed it... provided live music and overall, the place was clean and well maintained.
