Contribute FeedbackL'Orpailleur restaurant offers a menu of local dishes, though reviews on the food are mixed. Some find the food overpriced and underwhelming, while others enjoyed the limited but delicious selection. The terrace provides a beautiful view of the vineyards, making it a relaxing countryside experience. Some diners experienced poor service, with confusion among staff. However, the restaurant is recommended for its wine selection and pleasant atmosphere. Overall, L'Orpailleur is a decent option if you are visiting the winery, offering a simple yet effective dining experience in a lovely setting.
Enjoyed a nice birthday lunch with my wife. We shared a plate of duck rillettes followed by a delish tuna taking with a huge salad. I had the vigneron sandwich. It was very satisfying. All with a flight of wine
L’Orpailleur has been for 30 years the place you go to for tasting its wines. Its restaurant is no less up to the challenge with its selection of local dishes, including its desserts. We will go back for sure.
We were two for lunch. We had reserved even though it was a Wednesday. We are locals and had been there before. The place was fairly empty and then filled up quickly and the two waiters could not cope. One couple actually got up and left after having been ignored for 15 minutes. My friend had the Asian chicken salad. It was okay but pricey. I had the sandwich and salad, meh. The wine was the table wine, nothing to rave about. You get better wines at Les Côtes d'Ardoise up the road. We never got our desert the waiters were so confused. We will never go back.
We had lunch with a group of family members, so everybody had something different from the menu. I had pasta, I would equate it with Kraft diner, only one choice of sauce , rosé, very ordinary. My wife had chicken with small new potatoes and veggies. Small portion chicken with an brown sauce and potatoes were not cooked.Others had a sausage plate with potatoes as well. One sausage with a little sauce and not cooked potatoes. Another member of our party had pork tenderloins, 3 small round pieces of pork in what appeared to be the same brown sauce as the chicken. The price for the the pork was 36 dollars. The soup, sweet potato and carrot I am told was good, the sugar pie was small and tasted more like egg pie (tarte aux oeufs). If you go to visit the winery its great just don't eat there. Very expensive as well for the meals. Water for tea was lukewarm and the dining room did not have much ambience
The winery is nothing much but when you enter the restaurant you can imagine that you are in Napa. The outdoor setting is very attractive and the menu looks exactly like what you might find in a top winery in California. The pasta and the pork loin where both very tasty, and the maple pie divine. The only discordant note is the wine, which is so-so, but you can forgive that for the sake of the rest of the experience.
