Description

Nestled in Dunedin, this cosy bakery-café delights with handmade breads, massive vegetable-packed sandwiches and an adventurous pastry case—cardamom buns, flaky pain au chocolat, brown-butter cookies and mascarpone tarts earn consistent praise. A vegetarian-forward menu (likely vegan-friendly) pairs grilled halloumi dishes with smooth coffee (oat milk available) and generous, well-priced portions. Friendly, prompt staff and casual dine-in seating make it ideal for brunches, takeaways and pastry pilgrims seeking authentic flavors and memorable baked goods.

A nice cosy bakery with some seating places and some great bites. We went on a recommendation of a friend and it was well worth it. We had a grilled sandwich, brioche and the ginger-lime soda. Each of these were really good. But being a vegetarian, the grilled sandwich really clicked with me. I have had the croissant during a previous visit. Will recommend that.

This fantastic little bakery offers an impressive selection of pastries and a tempting dine-in menu, mostly focused on vegetarian options. I had a tough time choosing what to order! The cardamom bun was delightful, and I also picked up a pain au chocolat to go, which was excellent as well. I would seriously consider returning to Dunedin just to eat here again, so I highly recommend it!

As someone who often enjoys a latte, I can confidently say that this place serves one of the best and most consistently excellent lattes I’ve encountered. I’ve visited about 7 or 8 times, and I’ve never been let down. The latte boasts a mild yet delightful caramel-like aftertaste without any bitterness. On the food side, I've tried their grilled confit mushroom sandwich twice, and it was fantastic both times. I highly recommend this spot not only for the delicious food but also for the friendly atmosphere (aside from the welcoming baristas, "Peoples" is also the name of the coffee beans they use). The photos included are from two separate visits, showcasing the same food and drink.

I had the worst oat chai latte I've ever tasted here; it tasted more like something you'd find in an essential oil diffuser than a chai. On the bright side, the almond croissant is absolutely the best I've had in Dunedin—delicious! Unfortunately, the cardamom bun wasn't impressive. I mentioned to the staff that I could hardly drink the chai latte, but they didn't offer to replace it. Perhaps I'm just used to better service when it comes to subpar drinks, but that's okay. I'll definitely return for more of those almond croissants!

I had some truly well-brewed, smooth coffee! I appreciate the flavor, as the beans aren't overly bitter, but I would enjoy it a bit stronger. Nonetheless, it was really good! We also tried the cardamom bun, which was fluffy, flavorful, and baked to perfection. I would definitely return to sample other pastries and baked goods. Highly recommend!
