Milton Inn - Dundee
Milton Inn
Description
Sands Restaurant, formerly known as the Glass Pavilion, continues to draw diners with its inviting atmosphere and varied menu. While many guests praise the delicious and plentiful food, as well as the attentive staff, some have reported inconsistencies in service, particularly regarding table-sharing policies that left them feeling embarrassed. However, numerous patrons highlight memorable gatherings, citing great service during special events and enjoyable family lunches. As this restaurant aims to provide a warm, welcoming environment, it’s clear that while the dining experience can be hit or miss, the potential for delightful meals remains strong.

I left my sister at the table while I walked the dog, and she waited thirty minutes for a second drink of soda water and lime, which should have been an easy request. While I was gone, two ladies asked to share our table, which was fine until I went to pay the bill. The cashier was rude when I asked about being charged for the ladies' order as well. It turns out they do not allow sharing of tables due to difficulties with splitting bills, which should have been mentioned beforehand to avoid any embarrassment. I felt like I was being scolded by the cashier, and because of this poor service, I will think twice about returning to Sands.
I had heard great things about the glass pavilion, which is now called Sands Restaurant after a name change but still under the same management. Any change in a restaurant always catches my attention.
Wonderful lunch yesterday with my parents. The 6 of us we seated in the wee room which was perfect as my Dad is hard off hearing and it was easier for him. The food was delicious and plentiful, and the lovely girl who served our table was a credit to the Milton. We felt safe and very well looked after. Definitely be back soon.
