Contribute FeedbackTaypark House offers a stunning setting with exceptional service and delicious food. While some diners found the dishes to be large and varied, others noted slight inconsistencies with certain components. However, the overall experience remained positive, with beautiful presentation and a cozy atmosphere. The menu is diverse, catering to various dietary needs, and the house itself is a hidden gem with tasteful decor. The staff were attentive, and the meals were reasonably priced, making it a spot worth returning to. Whether for an anniversary celebration or a family lunch, Taypark House offers a delightful experience for all visitors.
Dined using Itison Tasting Menu offer. From the minute we entered the hotel we were warmly greeted by friendly and efficient staff. The food itself was absolutely delicious and we could not fault anything. We will definitely return and highly recommend.
Underwhelming. Food very average, portion small. Overpriced. Waited for ages for food and drinks. Quality of food has gone down hill over the past years. Not enough staff. Such a shame.
We went for an afternoon tea. On the arrival I asked for some water, when I should be offered, we got tea without milk and no teaspoons at table. We asked for the server first an old guy that never brought it, so we asked again, this time have to the only staff on the floor a girl, for water, milk and teaspoons she was not happy with our requests, she rolled her eyes and snort, she came back to bring the food and prior to it we asked to one of the afternoon to be boxed, but she brought to table the fourth anyway, she snort again when we asked for the box, she brought box which didn’t close, so all the food got dried. We asked for a second high chair and she snort again. We weren’t ask in any moment if everything was ok. If the requests were out of this world I could be understand we were demanding but wasn’t the case, ask for milk, water and teaspoons, are you serious? Before leaving a complaint here which I normally don’t do, my friend decided to complain with the manager, which was a mistake because instead of agreeing with us that the service was poor and try to be nice with us, he made excuses saying that the server must be joking. What?! We weren’t joking with her and she didn’t look funny in any way, if wasn’t enough he said that sounds a weird because she is the best staff they have it. If she is the best I don’t want know the worst of your staff. It was my fourth and last visit.
Lovely place and lovely staff but my £50 high tea for two was the most disappointing value for money high teas that I have ever had.(Particularly when those around us were enjoying the half price Itison high tea!!
Visited Taypark House with three friends for lunch. This is one of our favourite places to eat. Sadly not this time. We were seated at a lovely window overlooking the Tay. That was the only good part of our lunchtime. When seated we were advised there were no burgers and no steak pie. We all ordered the chip shop fish and chips. This was served on a board with mushy peas and tartare sauce. The fish was over cooked in layers of batter and lukewarm. The actual fillet of fish was almost hidden by the amount of batter. When I pointed this out to the waiter he reported this to the kitchen. We were told that the chef replied that they had changed suppliers. We all ordered the same dessert but was told this was unavailable as there was no orange liqueur. Not being tempted by the alternatives, we ordered coffees. The total bill was £103. Two small glasses of wine, four small fish and chips and four very ordinary coffees. As we left the waiter commented ‘See you soon’. I replied, in all honesty, ‘I very much doubt it’. Such a disappointment.
