Had a lovely lunch, where we got the meal deal which included the halloumi bagel and the soup of the day. The quality of the food was high and the service was really quick. Was a little pricey for a student such as my self...but it is well worth the money. I also told my girlfriend I would leave her for the halloumi bagel and she was not amused. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Tartan Coffehouse:
Out of all the coffee houses in Dundee, this one is at the bottom of my list for return visits. The food and drinks are not anything special, and it seems like you are mainly paying for the location on Perth Road. The food looks and tastes like it was reheated in a microwave and thrown onto a bun, trying to pass off as upscale Perth Road cuisine. Don't know what happened to this place. Used to be excellent. Certainly isn't now. Food poor. The fun welcoming atmosphere absolutely gone. Having to go up to the till and order and pay each time you want another coffee or anything else) is a pain. Why can't it just be table service? Servers not all bad but they are not great either. They used to be excellent. Very disappointed with my last few visits. Time to go elsewhere.
Saw reviews looked good, very disappointed, coffee was cold,salad covered in thick balsamic, panini was cold also, cheap bread,.
Lovely Independent Cafe , food and service excellent, been there 2 weekends in a row , Nacho's Soup Salads panini's excellent as is all the food and coffee's we received, very Busy but staff were excellent and service was quick , can't fault this Cafe , would recommend
Dont bring children there to eat.The toastie for my young lad was 1 slice of cheap bread folded with some cheese on it and 4 crisps.£3.75 Rip off.The orange juice not in a glass a cheap 10p small carton £1.75.Rip off.
What started as inconvenience turned into a discovery of TheTartan Coffee House. We enjoyed fast, friendly service with excellent food. We had bagel sandwiches, paninis and ice cream all of which were delicious. The companion gift shop was a bonus. Each of us four girls were able to take home a souvenir to remind us of our short visit to Dundee and the Tartan Coffee House.
