Contribute FeedbackThis quaint Italian restaurant has garnered a spectrum of reviews, showcasing both culinary triumphs and significant pitfalls. While some guests rave about the exceptional steak and seafood risotto, praising the welcoming staff and cozy atmosphere, others express disappointment with bland dishes and inattentive service. Issues such as missing ingredients, poor plating, and rude interactions have marred the dining experience for several patrons. Despite these inconsistencies, the charm of the restaurant and a few standout meals have left a lasting impression on others. Overall, diners are advised to try their luck, but with tempered expectations.
We were fortunate to have passed by the restaurant during the day and noticed the 'Cash only' signs, so we made sure to have enough cash for our meal. The restaurant is cozy with a nice ambiance, the waiter was friendly and attentive, and the food was deliciously prepared and presented. We also enjoyed the house wines. If we were staying in Dundee longer, we definitely would have come back!
Nothing great. Others in our group were satisfied with their food, though noting special. However, I had the penne pasta with spicy Italian sausage , and as a reviewer from July 2022 said, it was a bit of tomato paste with some salami! Not even a proper sauce . It looked awful, and I was so disappointed when it arrived – just a lot of reddish watery pasta slopped carelessly unto the plate with the very occasional very thin half slice of some kind of salami... with ample watery red splashes round the edge! It looked like leftovers, and felt like I was just eating a plate of wet pasta. The Cassata for dessert was adequate, but didn 't redeem the awful main.
We had a beautiful meal here with the Mushroom Pizza and the house special Pasta al Forno. Both were delicious and the service was first class.
What a find!! Visiting Dundee and found this online , would advise booking before your visit as seems very popular. Lovely little restaurant, staff very friendly, food great thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would highly recommend.
Visited as a “walk in” diner when staying at the Premier Inn in the city centre as it was just a five minute walk across the road. Restaurant was very busy and I was lucky to get the last remaining table. Welcome was warm and friendly and I would definitely recommend booking particularly if part of a larger group. Restaurant is family owned and from my seat by the bar and serving counter I observed the calm demeanour of the chef as he cooked to order and his front of house partner who did everything else. I had the ham and mozzarella pizza. Base was crisp and toppings were generous given the price charged. I opted for the house white wine which was served chilled and proved very drinkable. Despite the bustle service was attentive and very much on point. I would certainly visit if in the area as excellent food in a restaurant where the staff obviously took pride in everything they did.
