Visited quite late at night after almost 7 hours driving, were exhausted and had gone to multiple places who had said they were still serving only to be told they weren’t.. Owner was mid closing up and stayed open for us to make us a fresh pizza and was so kind and generous! Food was great- Italian hot pizza most definitely is hot and tasted super fresh. 100% will be back next time we are up that way, would recommend... View all feedback.
What travellinggeordie83 doesn't like about Best Pizza And Kebab House:
I paid £6.50 for a donner meat and chips and to be honest they were pretty bad. Firstly the portion size was very small and if I’m honest I’m pretty sure the meat had been stored all afternoon because it was cold and the chips tasted double dipped They were soft!! I wouldn’t return. Shame. I really dislike reviewing like this but customers deserve better. View all feedback.
Before COVID, we used to dine at this restaurant regularly while passing through for the best fish and chips we've ever had. We decided to give it another try recently and had a strange experience. A group of teenagers who were hanging around the serving counter went silent as we entered, almost as though they were expecting a piano player to stop playing. The teenagers left without ordering, so we found a table with a menu, confirmed that they served fish and chips, and placed our order. However, we were abruptly informed that it was only for takeaway and there was no sit-down service, despite the menus. We left with a feeling that our presence was not wanted. It was quite odd. We will hold off on returning until we see some positive reviews, as we were disappointed that we couldn't enjoy their fish and chips this time around.
After a day of sightseeing, we drove into Moffat for dinner. The first restaurant we tried was out of food, so we opted to dine at this place (which turned out to be a great choice). The waitress was very polite and helpful. We ordered 3 large fish and chips meals, as well as a 12-inch Calzone with peperoni and mushrooms. In addition, we had 2 cans of coke and 2 bottles of water. The decor of the restaurant was not perfect, but the food was excellent when it arrived. It was well-presented and incredibly delicious. The standout feature, however, was the price - unbelievably good value for the quality of the food. All I can say is well done and thank you.
My experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. The spicy chicken pizza was overwhelmingly spicy, causing a burning sensation in my throat for hours afterwards. The slices were also quite large, making it difficult to eat. The chips seemed to have been fried in old oil, as they had a stale taste. The staff was unfriendly and unhelpful, seemingly indifferent to customer satisfaction. They even doused the chips in vinegar without asking, possibly to mask the unpleasant odor of the oil. I would recommend avoiding this restaurant, as I'm sure there are much better dining options available nearby.

Everything was cooked freshly, chips really nice, fish large and tasty, and pizza cheesy and dissapeared quickly. Uses vegetable oil so less greasy than the other takeaways locally, and good prices. Staff can be terse, and cash only with very little change, nearest cash machine is most of the way down the other side of the main road. Would use again.
