Sunday Lunch at Toby Carvery is dinner like Mother used to make. Food is well prepared with a selection of Roast Beef, Turkey and Pork and a wide selection of veg and huge Yorkshire puds. Hot and tasty meals, with an option to go large... View all feedback.
What Biffo109 doesn't like about Toby Carvery Burnt Tree Island:
This carvery experience was one of the worst we've had. The servers tried to rush the meat but it didn't make a difference as the "veg" station caused delays. The vegetables were bland, there were no boiled potatoes, and the roasts were burnt and clumped together. The mashed potatoes resembled school cafeteria fare rather than a restaurant dish. The turkey seemed undercooked and slimy. The pork and lamb were passable... View all feedback.
Came in for a Friday night carvery, one meat and one veggie. Husband had turkey that was really lovely and juicy. Good value for money anc lovely staff, checked in, asked relevant questions and couldn’t be friendlier.
Ordered a carvery which I was so looking forward to. Delivered from just eat which was delivered on time. I had carvery for 1 which included the pigs in blankets. What an absolute disappointment 2 pieces of beef 1 piece of Pork, Yorkshire pudding was like cardboard pigs in blankets coverd in grease. Absolutely not worth the money. Round oak at merry hill no comparison loads more meat and vegetables Very dissatisfied customer
Food was extremely cold. Frozen mushrooms. Hash browns tasted awful. Bacon really fatty. Eggs were like bullets. Shame as their carvery is always amazing. Won't be having breakfast there again
Carvery was lovely but the manager was absolutely horrible. My rating used to be 5 but really it deserves a 1 now simply because you have a rude manager that can't manage.
Meal was passable. The amount of turkey and pork i was given was very short rations. They had all the vegetables that I like. I refused the yorkshire as i prefer more veg. As we went early, the veg were still fresh, I've been in the past when they were dried up. They had scratchings which the two of the party who tried them said they were vile. Two had yorkshire puddings which one of them didn't think edible. I would have had a dessert but the choice was rather limited and not very interesting, so I didn't have one. Waitress who served us was very pleasant. Only two of us ate everything we had. I was one of those but only because I only put as much as I would eat anyway. I only went because that's where the family chose to go. Last time about a year or so I didn't enjoy it so never went back. I used to go every week for Sunday lunch, but that was over 20 years ago.
