After placing our food order, we waited a long time for it to ar... read more Most of the drinks we wanted to order were out of stock, which should have been a warning sign. After placing our food order, we waited a long time for it to arrive. We were told the delay was due to a large group that had just come in, but from our table, we could see the only food being served was for a couple who had arrived after us. When my mom’s and sister’s meals finally arrived, we were informed that they were out of chips and that we should have been notified at the time of ordering. Unfortunately, we weren't told. The staff member promised a free dessert as compensation, but we never received it. My steak came with fries, but it was not cooked medium rare as I had requested, and it was missing the mushrooms and peppercorn sauce. The missing items were brought to my table only after my steak had gone cold while I waited. On top of that, my partner's meal never arrived because the waitress had dropped it on the floor. When I wanted to voice my concerns, the manager, Christie, refused to come out and speak with me, stating she was too busy to handle customers. The other staff were quite condescending as well. I was told that I would need to take my complaint up with Marston. Overall, it was a disappointing experience that left us frustrated during a difficult time.

The staff was very friendly, the service was excellent, and the food was outstanding. Despite our large group, our meals arrived in a timely manner and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. A big thank you to the Hilly House for making our night so memorable.
