Fantastic lunch experience at Le Parc. Wouldn't normally stop at a place off the highway and more than pleasantly surprised. Amuse bouche of fish and yuzu...
At a wonderful place, a chateau with a view in the nature down to the Seine, a very small (up to 16 seats) obivously family run restaurant provided a dinner which was not only excellent regarding taste, ideas and performance but as well at an unbelievable price: less than 20 € for three courses (plus 2 amouse bouche but without drinks). Visited presumingly mainly from local people, the restaurant was nevertheless stylish and in line with the ambiente. The restaurant staff was familiar/friendly (do not expect perfect professionalism). Regretably, the Duck Rouennaise requires command in advance. But the supreme de canard healed the disappointment. The cook needs to be an enthusiast in satisfying his guests. Anything presented to us was to our full plessure including the bill. That is a restaurant which we will clearly revisit, but next time with pre commanded duck.
I submitted a positive review some time ago. Since then, I have enjoyed lunch at Le Parc twice a week, and am still enchanted. I really cannot understand how anyone could find the cuisine mediocre: it's inventive, beautifully displayed, and if you take the trouble to ask, the personnel will give you a detailed inventory of what's on the plate. And it's delicious.
“Le Parc” is an outstanding restaurant. Situated in a château on the banks of the Seine, we arrived at sunset to some magnificent views. The Chef is known for his “Canard au Sang”, a duck specialty, which we had to try. We also had Duck Confit, and the meat melted off the bone. The Chef also makes his own breads and desserts. We had the Chocolate fondant and Apple charlotte. Both were exceptional. Of course we had to finish the meal off with some local cheeses from Normandy. Staffs were very friendly and spoke English. As a traveler who loves her food, for me the evening at “Le Parc” was one of the highlights of my trip. Duck in!
Even though we didn't have a reservation we were received warmly at this lovely restaurant overlooking the Seine. Our server was very accommodating of our limited French and explained all the menu items. We both had the three course special...excellent value and delicious food...even a farewell treat from the chef! Relaxed dining with lovely food.
