Fado Pub Kitchen - Dublin
Fado Pub Kitchen
Description
Nestled in a vibrant locale, this restaurant exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere complemented by friendly staff. While the service is generally attentive, food quality and preparation show variability. Diners enjoyed delightful appetizers and drinks during happy hour. However, many expressed disappointment over certain main dishes being underwhelming, overcooked, or lacking authenticity, particularly for an Irish Pub. The bustling environment, although lively, can be excessively loud, making conversation difficult. Despite these drawbacks, patrons appreciate the relaxed vibe, exceptional service, and an extensive beer selection, leading to mixed feelings about return visits—ideal for casual diners but possibly lacking for special occasions.

I went for dinner and ordered the croque madame, which came with an egg and pumpkin chili, along with garlic shrimp. My date chose the lamb burger. The food was exceptional, and the service was equally impressive. The menu was smaller than I expected, but I would definitely return. Service: Dine-in Meal type: Dinner.
The restaurant has a fun and inviting atmosphere, and the staff was very friendly—our waitress even had a cheerful demeanor. However, the wait time from when we were seated to when we received our food felt a bit long. There were four of us, each trying different dishes, and the quality varied. My daughter enjoyed her bowl of soup, and my wife was happy with her salad. I ordered the fish and chips, which I found a bit greasy, and the fries were underwhelming and not hot. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being excellent, I would rate the food a 7. The primary reason for my three-star rating is that, as a place advertising itself as an Irish Pub Kitchen, I expected to see a corned beef sandwich or at least a Reuben on the lunch menu. The waitress mentioned they used to offer it but removed it, which I found puzzling.
This is the best fish and chips I've ever had outside of Maine. It was completely unexpected! The fish was moist and full of flavor. I dined in for dinner, and the cost was about $20–30 per person.
**Meal Type:** Dinner **Price Range:** $20–30 **Food Rating:** 3/5 **Service Rating:** 3/5 **Atmosphere Rating:** 4/5 I recently dined at this restaurant for dinner and found it to be a mixed experience. The atmosphere stood out to me with a pleasant ambiance that made for a comfortable dining experience. However, the food and service were both average, each earning a rating of 3 out of 5. While the meals were decent, they didn’t quite exceed expectations. Overall, it was a nice evening, but there’s room for improvement in the culinary and service departments.
