Really nice bar restaurant. Food excellent. Decor fab. Staff very nice too.
Drink a bit pricey good f dinner though a bit quiet but nice place
First visit to Bartley's Bar and Lounge with friends last Friday evening we opted to dine in the bar rather than restaurant. Good selection of starters and light bites for sharing, but limited offering of main courses. Food of good quality and reasonably priced. The Guinness was a letdown though lacked depth of flavour somewhat, compared to offering in other places nearby such as Hairy Lemon across the street! Handy spot to meet up if visiting Gaeity Theatre nearby or for quick bite to eat.
I was expecting more. After 45 minutes with the overpriced bill asked out.
Four of us booked for a meal. We were met at the door by a hostess who told us we could eat in the bar if we wanted as there was nobody in the restaurant not a great start! We did check out the restaurant but unfortunately, she was correct so we ended up sitting in high seats (our choice) in the bar area. Overall the place wasn't particularly busy for a Friday night and we got served very promptly. We had starters of delicious garlic bread a fish dish and arancini which were all acceptable. For the main course, two ordered the salmon which they enjoyed, one of us ordered Chicken Supreme which wasn't available and therefore two of us had Fish and Chips. Unfortunately, this dish is not be recommended, in fact, one of us left half on the plate and so we were credited with this. That being said we enjoyed the wine and were very impressed with the service including complimentary prosecco as we were celebrating a wedding anniversary. Overall I would recommend this place, but I think the chefs may have to up their game, I noticed in an earlier review of this place the menu on Open Table is not on offer on the night and we found the same. If they got this right it could be a great venue it definitely has the service staff to make it so.
