The Betsy Swords - Dublin

The dining experience was disappointing. I had to send the calamari back twice due to its poor quality, which was nothing like what I had experienced in the past. The other appetizers were quite good, though they were a bit pricey. The cocktails were affordable and strong. However, the service provided by the waiter and waitress was exceptional—one of the best I’ve had in a long time.

Dining here is overpriced. The steak was good, but it was far too expensive for what they offer. The pasta was average and similarly overpriced. The brie appetizer consisted of just two small pieces for €12, which left a disappointing overall impression. This place isn’t for us.

When we entered the restaurant, we were impressed by the decor, but unfortunately, that was the highlight of our experience. The staff repeatedly asked us what we wanted, and we had to approach four different people before one finally returned with our drinks. The food was a major disappointment; my partner's steak was overcooked and dry, served with just one piece of broccoli on a large plate, which made no sense. My burger looked great, but eating it felt like swallowing glue. We had to ask two or three times for more drinks during our meal, despite feeling rushed as if they wanted to turn over the tables quickly. When we eventually expressed interest in the dessert menu, we waited 15 minutes without anyone returning. Frustrated, we opted to settle the bill and leave. We definitely won't be coming back.

The Betsy is my favourite place to eat everything about it is lovely food atmosphere and the staff are the friendliest people I have encountered in a restaurant which is a credit to Gerry
