Was looking for a last minute mid week reservation and got a slot later than I had hoped. Emailed them back and received a prompt response accommodating me at an earlier slot. The email exchange took place on a day when the restaurant was closed. I was promptly seated upon arrival. Ordered the aloo tikki starter (really wanted the wings but trying to eat more vegetarian food and the Lal Maas (Rajisthani spicy lamb not turning completely vegetarian… along with a naan. The food was excellent I wanted to like the aloo tikkis from Delhi I grew up eating more, but Pickle’s version had a wonderful balance and crispness worthy of any self respecting tikkiwala. By the time my appetizer was done, the restaurant was full. The Lal Maas was sublime. Despite gorging on the tikkis (2 in a portion , I couldn’t stop eating the spicy, tart sauce with the naan. The lamb was (mostly super tender. And this is a very minor gripe. Ambience was nice and the service was attentive and pleasant without being overbearing. Will be back.
I wanted to compare it with Darbar and for some reason I had very high expectations from this place but wasn't very impressed with food or service. But saying this doesn't mean it was bad. May be I need to change my selection of food for next time. A bit expensive though
Food was excellent and the staff were all very helpful and lovely throughout. Would definitely recommend however it is pretty expensive for what it is 225 for four of us with just mains, two starters and a drink or two. They also charged €25 a head at booking which wasn't obvious, only apparent when it came to pay the bill that they'd already deducted it.
Wonderfully prepared North Indian cuisine, very balanced, not heavy on the sauce. The tandoori chicken and the duck were both delightful.
Came by while visiting Dublin from NYC for a long weekend. This restaurant absolutely perfect! Cheers to Kundal (i hope ive spelled it correctly); a great host that helped to make dinner exceptional and created the perfect off menu craft cocktail.the servers all understood the dishes and everyone was attentive and courteous. FOOD: delicious truly the most incredible flavor and spice combinations VIBE: relaxed and upbeat, lots of laughter from neighboring tables and good energy generally. PRICE: was perfectly reasonable for the quality and location. Would recommend this to all as a must visit.
