Flash Harry's
Description
Flash Harry's offers a beautiful ambiance with a mix of experiences, from great cocktails to poorly trained staff. While some reviewers were impressed with the unique stone-cooked steak and attentive service, others were left disappointed by rude and disorganized staff, as well as cold food. Despite varying experiences, the consensus is that the decor and seating are top-notch, with only minor complaints about loud music in the evenings. Overall, Flash Harry's seems to be a hit-or-miss dining experience, with some patrons praising the food and service, while others warn against the poor quality and unprofessionalism they encountered.

Poor quality service would be an understatement. Had a table booked at 8 and when we walked in we were told to grab the menus from behind the front desk ourselves and sit anywhere. We went to the upstairs area as it was quieter. After sitting there for a while a staff member coming out of the toilets told us the upstairs area was actually closed so we have to go down. Once we finally sat at our table we waited ages for someone to take our orders. The staff was very unorganized. We ordered drinks and I never got mine. We have asked multiple waitresses for that drink and each of them said they will bring it in a moment but never did. Food took a while to come out and was so salty it was difficult to enjoy especially without a drink. All together the experience was very disappointing.
The staff at this restaurant are exceptional, despite their young age. They are clearly experienced, with a great vibe and good music playing.
FH is a visually appealing spot for drinks and food, but their downfall lies in the staff. All of the servers are in their early twenties and lack experience. They seem more interested in chatting amongst themselves rather than attending to customers. It is common for drink orders to be forgotten or take up to 20 minutes to arrive, even when the restaurant is not busy. When drinks are finally brought to the table, payment is not always requested, which can be strange as other reviews have mentioned being presented with the bill unexpectedly. Additionally, the staff is slow to provide a card machine for those who prefer to pay per drink. It seems as though they lack care and are more focused on socializing with each other. The lack of soap in the toilets, frequent absence of toilet paper, and motion sensor lights that turn off if you stay still for too long are also notable issues. The music selection is another complaint, as it consists mainly of outdated songs from 2006 with very few hits and an excessive amount of Mika.
I recently dined at Flash Harry’s in Blackrock for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The ambiance is a blend of boho chic and flashy, as the name implies. The cocktails were a highlight, reasonably priced even for Dublin. I usually shy away from cocktails due to cost and potency, but these were exceptional. The menu is limited but each dish is executed perfectly. The nachos were delicious and the Mother Clucker Burger was divine, perfect for pairing with cocktails or beers. While the staff were friendly and attentive, some were overly so, checking in multiple times within a short period. Overall, the experience was great and I highly recommend Flash Harry’s for its atmosphere, delicious food, and potent cocktails. I will definitely be returning.
