We h... read more Secondly, and perhaps most importantly, the menu on OpenTable and Adelphi's own website was completely different from what was actually offered at the bar. We had expected a casual restaurant featuring steaks, burgers, lasagna, and other similar dishes, but instead, Adelphi turned out to be a bar serving items like hot dogs and nachos. This would have been fine if that’s what we were looking for. We were so puzzled that we wondered if we were at the wrong place or if there was another dinner menu available. When we asked the very friendly waitress about the menu, she told us she had worked there for over a year, and that was always the only menu they had. She also mentioned that Adelphi was formerly part of the Abbey Hotel but had since separated, which we assumed was the reason for the menu change. Ultimately, we had to scramble to find another restaurant and put our names on the waiting list, which resulted in us being almost half an hour late for a birthday party.

Unfortunately, this ruined our romantic Christmas Day dinner, and we were left with no choice but to eat at a fast-food place instead. I don't understand why the restaurant would accept reservations for a day when it is not open.

The atmosphere is wonderful, and the food is delicious and reasonably priced for what you receive. The cocktail deals are excellent, and the staff are lovely. While the service was a bit slow, it's understandable given the time of year.
