Bruno Macaris - Drogheda
Bruno Macaris
Description
It's not the name that makes us famous, it's the food. The F.macari Business is a family-run Italian traditional fish and chip takeaway, founded by the late Francesco Macari and his family. Today, F.macari is proudly operated by Francesco’s children, with the fourth generation already carrying on the family tradition. There are many Macari families in Ireland known for their fish and chips, and it is often assumed we are all one family. While we do share roots from the same region of Val Di Comino, this particular Macari group was established in 1959 by Libero and Giulia Macari, Francesco’s late parents, who came from the well-known village of Casalattico in Southern Italy. They opened their first takeaway business on Bolton Street, Dublin – a legacy that continues to thrive today.

Feedback
I used to order from Bruno Macaris often because their food was outstanding. Sadly, I stopped when the quality of their burgers dropped, with wilted lettuce and barely any salad. I decided to give their menu another shot tonight, but it still didn’t meet my expectations. They even changed the meat in the kebab, and it was really disappointing. It’s a shame because the food used to be great. On top of that, the delivery fee has gotten quite high—almost €5. The only positive was the chicken in the snack boxes, but that’s not enough to make me order again, especially with such a steep delivery charge.
I’m giving Bruno Macaris 3 stars because we were regular customers, but unfortunately, the last three times we ordered the kebab chip tray, the meat was tough and unappetizing. It tasted off, as if it had been left out too long. We won’t be ordering from Bruno Macaris again.
Excellent takeaway spot offering delicious fish and chips, burgers, and a wide range of choices. Fast service and welcoming staff. Ideal for a casual, fulfilling meal on the move!
